404 Errors caused by the BellesLink redesign

As you’ve seen from the new features showing up in your account, such as the Contact Manager, the BellesLink skip tracing platform is undergoing a major redesign. Because of this, some customers have been experiencing problems and errors when using the site.

We apologize for the inconvenience of search errors, 404 pages, and other hick-ups caused by the ongoing work on the BellesLink site. We are redesigning BellesLink with a new front-end technology. It is allowing us to deliver the new features you’re already seeing and will allow many more improvements in the future. In the meantime, the transition can cause some issues, so please pardon our dust.

We are aware of the most common issues customers are experiencing and we’re working to eliminate as many as we can.

Two common causes

BellesLink runs best on the Google Chrome browser. If you’re not already using it, we recommend switching to help limit errors. Here are the two most common issues customers are experiencing and how to fix them.

Browser extensions

Error Message: 404 – File or directory not found.

Google Chrome browser extension are great, but they can cause unexpected errors. If you are getting a 404 Error a browser extension may be the problem. Try turning off extensions to see if that is the root of the problem. You can find extensions under Window/Extensions.

There is a known conflict with the MetaMask Google Chrome extension provided by metamask.io. Turn this extension when using BellesLink.com.

Using the web browser’s back button

Error Message: 404 – File or directory not found.

Because BellesLink is transition from one technology to another, clicking the browser’s back button can sometime cause an error. We recommend using the navigation built into the app to move between screens.
